Malachite Piece

Hand-Size Malachite Display Specimen - Flowing Swirls and Orbs

This piece of Malachite has beautiful swirls and flowing patterns as well as a few orbs. Much of the Malachite coming from the Congo has a polish on it, whether used as a display specimen or as lapidary rough. This one is polished on all sides and reveals a few spots of the brown matrix within it. It measures roughly 4" x 2 1/2" x 2 1/4" at the wider points. The weight is 2 lbs 5 ounces, or 1060 grams.

Malachite Piece

Hand-Size Dark Green/Black Malachite with Bullseyes

There are many bulleyes in this dark greeen and black-looking Malachite piece. In normal room lighting it looks dark like in many of the photos, but under direct light or sunlight it is even nicer than it looks on the black background. It measures roughly 4" x 3" x 2". It weights 1 lb 14 ounces, or 865 grams. (If considering for lapidary rough, we are not sure how deep the patterns go into the stone the Malachite; you can see from the last photo that the underside looks much more plain. But a very neat piece just as it is.)

Large Malachite Piece

Large Dark Green Malachite with Orbs

This is a large piece of Malachite, very dark green, almost black in color, with slightly lighter green orbs in it. While it looks very dark naturally, in direct light or sunlight it is much brigter. It has a smooth and rolling surface with just a few crevices on the face. Sliced on just one edge, the rest is all natural, with a light polish on the face. The back side is very rough and uneven, but appears to have some sparkle in the green areas. It will stand on the cut edge if desired. It measures apx 9 1/2" x 5 1/2" and thickness varies between about 1/2" to 1 3/4" thick. Weight is 5 lbs, 14 ounces (2.67 kgs).
